Language

According to the (KBBI), language is an arbitrary system of sound symbols used by people to cooperate, interact, and identify themselves.Language is one of the communication systems used by humans and has important functions in people's lives, such as as means of communication, identity markers, markers of social stratification, and others

Language has a broader function in human life, including as a means of building cultural and social identity. Each language reflects the unique characteristics of its user community, such as the values, beliefs and history attached to the group. This can be seen from the differences in vocabulary, expression, or grammar that develop in various regions and ethnic groups, showing how rich and dynamic language is in responding to the socio-cultural context.

In the era of globalization and technology, the role of language is increasingly important in connecting individuals across regions and countries. Global languages such as English are becoming a common means of cross-cultural communication, but the preservation of local languages also has an important value to maintain linguistic diversity and local identity. With digital technology, efforts to learn, document and develop various languages are increasingly open, so that languages remain sustainable and relevant in various walks of life
